Burned Feet

So Reid managed to climb on the oven door last week and got second degree burns on his feet. Don't worry, he is doing fine now.

Yes, we have heard of oven baby locks, and we have gone through three of them in the past few months. The way our oven is positioned inhibits their effectiveness to some extent, and the combined power (and weight) of the twins easily pulls the oven locks off.

The short version of the story is that we ended up in the Primary Children's ER because urgent care wouldn't treat Reid. We spent most of the night in the hospital, during which time the doctors performed a little procedure to remove the dead skin on one foot.

Reid is healing up well, as seen in the pictures below. What a blessing. That was one of the scarier experiences we have had in a while.

Not forgetting my handsome son Gage (really, really, ridiculously handsome), I posted a clip of him in all his glory (and quirkiness).

Reid has been in bandages for a week straight, and he isn't too happy about it.

oh! That IS the scariest thing! You poor guys! Poor Little Reid! I sure hope he's learned! Probably not, but we sure can hope! I hope you guys are doing ok!! I'm sure even though he was in pain, it was worse on you guys than on him! Kids are so amazingly resilient, thank goodness!

Isn't it amazing that no matter how hard we try to protect the little buggers, they find a way around our attempts. Thank heaven he is OK. Maybe that will slow him down for a while. => Take care you guys.

How sad! The poor little guy. I hope that he is doing much better by now. I guess we're lucky that we've never had to make a trip to the hospital yet with Taylor being 3. Little kids do the darndest things! Hope you're all doing good. Take care.

Poor little Reid. And poor mommy and daddy. Your kids are too darn smart!!! What a tough little guy. I wish we were closer in proximity to one another, sometimes you just need to have family around. Miss you all. Give those boys big slobbery kisses from me, Collin, and Lilly. We love you!!! And we are praying for Reid's little feet to heal well.

Your kids are so adorable--even with little feet bandages :-( Sorry about the oven incident. We all get to have these fun little things happen, eh? The joys of parenting--NOT! It's hard enough trying to keep 1 kid out of trouble, I can only imagine the headache of 2. Props to you guys!
