She didn't like crawling. Until...
Sunday. I watched it happen. There was something she wanted (it's been two days...the details escape me) and she crawled to get it.
Whoa.
A whole new world opened up. Now she cruises.
So we've got the gate up, and I bought a dustbuster so we could keep the choking hazards down. It is much harder to babyproof when you've got 3-year-olds too.
Speaking of the twins, they are playing super good together lately. They've hit a developmental milestone or something, because wow--imaginative play. They run around crushing monsters and being cats and mice. It's great. Yes, they fight. And, make lots of messes. But, I haven't had to actively entertain them as much lately. Which is apparently what all those people meant when they said it would eventually be easier to have twins because they'd entertain each other. To my cousin who just found out she's expecting twins: LIE. People say it to make you feel better. It happens, yes, after 3 1/2 years and you STILL have to mediate lots of fights. So it isn't exactly like the fact that they play together makes up for the previous three years of trauma. But wow--they are so fun! I love those monkeys. Which doesn't preclude them sucking my life away. In a good way. Isn't that what all kids do? That's why we have 'em...otherwise you end up filling your life with stuff that just isn't as great.
Oh, really quick--have you seen the P&G "Mom" commercials during the Olympics? You probably have, but hang on while I see if I can embed or link you to the best one. I really love these. If you haven't seen them, it'll make you smile. There. here's the link.
AND...I'm going to take down the Valentine's day topper soon. I can't find it on the computer and am too lazy to look right now. Nick wants me to post it when I take it down, so its all on hold. Like taking down Christmas decorations. You need to let it sit for a bit.
Learning to Sit: (which was before she learned to crawl. Sorry about the videos 2 weeks behind...)
Gage in Dani's exersaucer. He's been hilarious lately. He tells me now, "Mom, you crack me up," because I tell him that all the time. He also says "just a couple secs" because I'm always telling him "a couple minutes" or "just a sec." In his prayers he is grateful for light and dark. And he tells Reid all the time, "you're my best friend."
First day she crawled: (for some reason this one won't load. I'll try it again at a later time.)
Danica being a smarty:
AND FINALLY...She Loves to Crawl:
Eating a canned peach with her mesh feeder thingy. She liked that.
Gumming (very well supervised) an apple piece
Her first sink bath with no baby bath!
Sometimes you've gotta carry your shark in your mouth
Gage really, really loves Danica. She's "his" Danica. Or, Dan-ki-ka, as he says.
I asked them if I could take their picture. I think they're teenagers in disguise.
This is really what they were doing
I was trying to get his puppy dog face. When he's sad he comes up to you and tips his head down, looking up at you with big, sad eyes. He's very effective. But now when he's giggly.
