Rattle Smackdown

Today in church Reid learned the danger of using toys as weapons. He swung his rattle around and smacked his own forehead with it. It was a pretty decent swing and immediately left a red welt. He didn't cry, but indicated his distaste by throwing the rattle to the floor. Perhaps he was punishing himself for being extra difficult the past few days.

It was a lot of fun to have Collin, Liana, and Maribeth visit for the week. It seemed they barely got here and then had to leave. I've posted a few more pics from their stay.

Janine and I are also really excited to see everyone at Mom's in a couple of weeks. We hope you are all doing great.

7 Months Old Today

I've posted a few pictures of Janine and the boys, and a video of the boys eating bananas. Collin (brother-in-law) and Liana (Janine's sister) are here visiting right now, and we got a great video of Liana and Gage--so I've posted that too. Hope you enjoy.

Ridiculously Charming

It was fun to have Mom here for a few days. Hopefully she enjoyed it despite the chaos. I have posted a few happy looking pics of her and the boys. This is my own personal use of propaganda to make it appear as if the boys are always ridiculously charming. (In truth they are always charming as long as they are clean, fed, and not tired--like those three stars align often.)

Gage figured out how to roll from his back to his tummy yesterday; however, he has forgotten that he can also roll from his tummy to his back. Obvious whiney consequences follow.

We fed the boys solids for the first time this week. Reid loves it and has caught on well. Gage doesn't seem to understand why the food doesn't slide down his throat. So, he has decided to spit each spoon-full out and inspect it.

Besides the pics, I've posted a clip of Gage inspecting his hands. He has been doing this for a couple of weeks. For some reason his hands are really fascinating to him right now.

Why can't they crawl yet?

Here are a few new pics. Don't be fooled by the one I've put up of them holding their own bottles. They will do it for a little while, but not long. I'm trying to teach them to hold their own bottles all the time because it is a pain in the neck to feed them both at once. Limited success so far, but we are making progress.

Meanwhile, Reid finally rolled over from his back to his tummy this week. It was a lot of effort, and he hasn't done it since. I am very anxious for the boys to move on to the next stage. I know that has its own problems, but at least they will be able to entertain themselves and each other a little more.
