Gage's Post

BTW, I still love Reid, he just didn't have quite as many funny pics from the last ten days. Don't worry though, he got lots of love and attention on his birthday, and will have a starring role next week--I gave him his first haircut today!

Birthdays and Random Thoughts

I realize that we were supposed to post this on Sunday, but oh well...who really keeps track of these things?

The boys are officially two now. Actually, since their birthday was ten days ago I suppose this isn't new news. I made them a cake, and then had to invite some people over to help consume it. That was pretty much the extent of my party planning though. Maybe next year, or more probably the year after, I will really go all out. Which in my case means a few games and a theme. Goody bags, that sort of thing. I realize that all the cool parties are at Build-a-Bear and Little Gym, and other nifty places. We'll see. I tend to like things low-key and cheap. Perhaps the boys are doomed.

We've been garage sale-ing lately, something we haven't wanted to do all summer. We stumbled on a fundraiser the other week at the high school across the street, and have since been hooked. I got a nice new sewing machine for $10. Works great. In theory, this means I will finish the Christmas presents I have been promising people for nine months. I could've had a whole pregnancy in that time.

Speaking of pregnany, I am trying to lose the rest of my baby weight before we take the plunge and try again. Reid is trying to convince us we don't want to try again, primarily by being a stinker and at the moment by not going to sleep, but screaming for me to come save him instead. What I was going to say though, is I hate dieting. I know those Weight Watcher ads talk about how diet is a four letter word, and they don't work, etc. etc. But let me tell you--the way you have to eat to actually lose weight will never be a happy place for me. More healthy than now: sure. 1200 calories a day? nope. I am cranky, and have cheated for two days now. Oh well, that's my confession and I'll be back on track tomorrow. Yeesh.

Here are the pictures that I know is the only reason you check this. Have a great week!

Pictures From the Tahoe Trip

I'm just throwing in a few more pics from the Tahoe trip. There are already a ton of other great photos of that trip posted on all my family's blogs if you want to see more.

Hopefully I'll get to the Dallas trip tomorrow.

Pre-post

Sorry we haven't updated in a while. A couple of weeks of scattered vacationing has kept us busy. You might say we have been continuously partying from Tahoe all the way to Dallas. Of course, that is only if you count the 20 hours of driving with twins and 10 hours of plane flights with twins as part of the party time. :)

It was fun to see almost everyone on both sides of the family. We had a great time getting together with my family at Tahoe. It was so fun to see all the little cousins together and old enough to play with each other.

Joel and Brittany's wedding in Dallas was beautiful and near picture perfect. We are so happy for them. It is true that we whole heartedly approve of Joel's choice (and are very happy Brittany said "yes"). Congratulations you guys.

I've titled this post as "Pre-post." Think of this post like you would think of a corporate pre-meeting. Hardly anything gets done, but it is intended to help prepare for the real thing. Similarly, this post is in preparation for the real post which I will pull together Sunday. Again, sorry we've been so behind on our updates.

As an teaser, I'll throw in a couple of pics. Hope you are all well.

P.S. (A note for the Clayson side of the family) I would have posted a web album of our Tahoe Reunion, but I only had a couple of pics. We apparently didn't use the camera much, and when we did, we took videos. Thank you for posting your stuff though. Without it we would be out of luck for more pics of the trip.

Gage wasn't feeling well that day and didn't enjoy the beach much. That said, he didn't like the beach much the next day even though he was feeling better.

"Really, really, ridiculously good looking."
